Miriam Cooper

M.Ac. L.Ac, Dipl.Ac

Acupuncturist • Teacher • Healer • Dancer
35+ years sharing the wisdom of Classical Five-Element Acupuncture

Miriam Cooper has taught Acupuncture, Tai Chi, and Five-Element Healing for over 35 years in NYC, Europe, and online. She maintains private acupuncture practices and Tai Chi classes in NYC and the Hudson Valley, NY.

Miriam studied Classical Five-Element Acupuncture directly with Professor JR Worsley in England and the US. She is also a longtime student of Daoist Medicine with Master Jeffrey Yuen, 88th generation lineage holder. She studied Tai Chi directly with Patrick Watson, senior teacher under Professor Cheng Man-ch'ing.

She loves to share these teachings with acupuncturists, medical professionals, and the public.

Miriam’s work is also informed by Buddhist studies with Bardor Tulku Rinpoche, Mingyur Rinpoche, Tai Situ Rinpoche and other Masters of the Karma Kagyu lineage.

She brings to her teaching a formative, joyful background in dance and lifelong mentorships with Carolyn Brown (of Merce Cunningham), Sallie Wilson (of Anthony Tudor and American Ballet Theater) and Sara Rudner (of Twyla Tharp and Heart Dance).

Miriam’s teachers impressed upon her the vital importance of sharing from one’s heart for the benefit of All.
